Public Address speakers

This round speaker in the 14th street station is typical of public-address speakers in the NYC subway system. They are usually spaced every 15 feet or so over the wall facing the tracks on an island platform

This is the second type of loudspeaker found in NYC subway stations. Generally these are located on the ceiling only, the other type can be found almost anywhere, including ceilings.
